As you may have realized by the previous posts on this blog, two of the MLBPAA Summer interns, Nicki and Spencer, have arrived. Unfortunately for me, this means that my tenure must come to an end, and this is my farewell post as an MLBPAA Spring intern. Over the last four months at the Alumni Association, I have learned many new things and met many new people, which I am confident will help me in my future endeavors.

Overall, I’m happy to have had the opportunity to be a part of the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association not only because of the experience and knowledge that I have gained, but also in helping fulfill the Association’s mission, which is to promote the game of baseball and to provide positive positive role models to today’s youth through sport. I have accomplished this by assisting in the planning, execution and follow-through of MLB Alumni events such as charity fundraisers and free Legends for Youth Clinics. In addition to event planning, I have gained experience in public relations, promotions, database management, marketing, memorabilia and social media practices.

As far as what’s next for me, I couldn’t tell you. For the time being, I’ll be heading back to Minnesota and hopefully will my Minnesota Twins into turning their season around while looking for a job, another internship, or graduate school. Only time will tell what and where I’ll end up, but my involvement with the MLBPAA has helped me develop a further understanding and knowledge of the field of sports business, which is ideally my career goal.
