With the All-Star break quickly approaching, I thought I would give an update on the Intern Rivalry between myself and Nicki Keller (Indians v. Tigers). It was made clear in earlier blog entries from Nicki that the Tigers would crush the Tribe every game they played against each other. I have the last laugh, however, for the first have of the season. After 6 games, the Indians have a commanding 5–1 record against the Tigers. Most of the meetings haven’t been close with the Indians dominating Detroit pitching and stifling Detroit hitting. It is clear that the Indians have Detroit’s number this season, the first half anyway, but both teams are entering the upcoming break in solid positions in the AL Central. Cleveland is a half game behind the leading White Sox while Detroit is two games out of first. With 1.5 games between the Indians and Tigers, the second half meetings between both clubs will be extremely important if either team hopes to keep pace in the Central. The next series commences in Cleveland on July 24th and with a 5–1 head-to-head record against Nicki’s team, I have the utmost confidence that the Indians will continue their dominance. So

Nicki, and all Detroit fans, it is TRIBE TIME NOW!
